Updates

Changelog

New features and fixes in the Areaplane floor plan, map, and irrigation tools, and the iPhone and iPad app.

  1. Web 1.4

    Create Perimeter

    Floor plan and map tools

    • Each measurement has a menu with Rename, Create Perimeter, and Delete.
    • Create Perimeter adds a length that runs around an area's outline, in the area's colour and named after it.
  2. Web 1.3

    A rebuilt irrigation planner

    Irrigation planner

    • A cleaner layout, with fixes for missed clicks, pipes that ended early, and markers removed by a single click.
    • Place heads for me lays out heads on every lawn and groups them into zones. Heads never spray off the grass and no longer crowd the corners.
    • Choose Best fit or a head type before placing, then delete any head you don't want.
    • A step-by-step setup guide, from outlining the grass to exporting the report.
    • Pick heads for a zone by clicking them on the plan. Heads you add by hand join a nearby zone.
    • Deleting a zone asks whether to keep its heads.
    • Plans with several lawns: zones are named after their lawn, and one valve box can serve every lawn.
    • The materials list counts valve manifolds and control wire for each valve box, and warns when a box holds more than six valves.
    • A new sample yard with lawns in front of and behind the house.

    Floor plan and map tools

    • Measurement labels hide while you draw, so they never cover the next shape.
    • A Show Labels setting to turn labels off.
  3. Web 1.2

    Tidier drawing

    Floor plan and map tools

    • Drawing instructions sit in a bar under the toolbar that you can dismiss.
    • Smaller drawing dots by default, in all three tools.
  4. Web 1.1

    One workspace for every tool

    Tools

    • One workspace for the floor plan, map, and irrigation tools. Switching tools in the header is instant and keeps your work open.
    • Sample projects for every tool, separate from your own saved work.
    • A refreshed look for all three tools.
    • Bring a floor plan's drawing into the irrigation planner.
    • The irrigation planner opens a saved project file or a plan image.

    Fixes

    • Measurements no longer drift off the plan after a reload.
    • Projects saved by an older version with misplaced measurements get a one-time offer to fix them.
    • Pinch zoom works on touch screens in the floor plan tool.
  5. Web 1.0

    The first release

    Tools

    • Floor plan calculator: upload a plan image or PDF, set the scale from one known length, and measure areas and lengths with polygons, rectangles, and lines, grouped into categories.
    • Google Maps area calculator: trace land, roofs, and lots on satellite imagery.
    • Irrigation planner: lay out sprinkler heads, zones, drip lines, and pipes, with a materials list and a PDF report.
    • Projects are saved in your browser and can be downloaded as a file.
    • Sod and solar roof calculators.
